Playoffs Reminders

Up to the finals, if there is more than one subdivision, the playoffs are a single match. If there is only 1 subdivision the semi-finals & finals will be a double match (home & home). Single matches are played until a team score 1 point more than ½ the total points of the match. Double matches scores continue to the second match. When 1 point more that the total points of a regular match is reached, the winner is declared.

You must call the league with the results as soon as the match ends. We want to speak to both captains to confirm the score. You must mail in the match report with each player who participated printing and then signing their names. (Please use the forms supplied at the meeting or get the .pdf from the NYDO web site.)

If the match ends in a tie (8 to 8, 9 to 9, or 12 to 12), the teams then play one game of 1001. Both Monday & Tuesday teams now play four players to a side. The game is straight start - double finish. A Coin flip decided which team starts (no bull shot). If a team does not have the number of players required, it must play short, just like when you play one on two in doubles - the other team gets extra throws. It is important to throw in the correct order so that you do not have someone's throw discounted. You should put up the players initial(s) in order on the scoreboard so every one can see it.

The finals are always a double match, played as a home & home. As stated above, the match end when a team reaches 1 point more that the total points for a singe match. (Division A- 25, Division B - 19, or Division C - 17)

Just like the other matches, if it ends in a tie, you play the game of 1001 as described above. We will try to attend the finals.

We now provide a player eligibility listing at the Captains Meeting. Captains can contact us to verify questionable player eligibility prior to playing. It is the captain's & team's responsibility to make sure you do not play any players that are not eligible for post season play. Remember, a player must have played in 5 different week's matches to be eligible to play in the post season. Also, sanctioned players can only play once per night. Using a player who is not eligible means forfeit loss for the team. All players should also be ready and willing to provide proof of identity to either the other team or to League officials. We will try to drop by playoff games to check on players, especially the finals.

PLEASE,

Call in the match results AS SOON AS the match is over.
